I'm considering buying an Golf 1.8T (A3 not in the US) and wanna know the 0-60 (0-100km) times chipped for that? any perfomance difference btween A3 1.8T and Golf 1.8T?
is 1.8T chipped faster than VW VR6 engine?

Hi, I have a 180 bhp A3 quattro and its 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) is the same as for the Golf VR6, 7.5 s. I have recently chipped it to 215 bhp but have not yet done any serious tests. With spiked winter tires, wet road and quite slow gear changes I got it down to 6.7 s repeatedly. The increase in torque at lower revs is really noticeable.

is your car tiptronic or manual? i thought 150hp 1.8T chipped to 180hp runs 7.5s 0-60 but I expect A3/1.8T Golf run faster since they are lighter?
I'm considering getting a 150hp 1.8T Golf and chipped 0.8 bar if they can run under 7s
what is the reliability issues regarding chipping?
is intercooler, blowoff valve/by-pass value neccessary?

its manual. I had the factory fitted 180 bhp chip before and it has longer boost build up times and lower boost on lower gears as i understand. Thats why third party 180 bhp chips have more torque/lower 0-60 times. I don't have the exact information for other chips but I guess they will have better times than my 180 chip. Comparing with my new 215 chip, 193 chips should have something like 5-10 % lower torque and that would give you times around 7 s. Concerning reliability I didn't have to change anything else but the air filter. I do have had problems with the boost release valve (I am not sure but I have heard its a bit of plastic) that has broken. I will get a new one on my next service as it doesn't do more than sound bad when lifting of the gas after high boost. I have reason to belive it was malfunctioning from the begining so its hard to say if its the fault of new chip. The company delivering the chip also has a warranty that covers any faults on the engine after chipping.
