Everything I've read has stated just the opposite. While the rear seats are too small for adults, the front seats are supposed to offer abundant room (including headroom). I don't think the Germans have exported a car to the States in recent times that couldn't accomadate us "big Americans."

I sat in one on a recent trip to Munich. There is a TON of front leg room. I am 6'1" and I had to move the seat way up to reach the pedals (kind of like a CRX, if you ever sat in one of those.) Now, you're not really going to fit anyone in the back seat, but who cares!
