Hey all,
I've posted this problem before, but if I turn the volume up a bit (I've got the Bose 10-speaker etc. etc.), the changer seems to skip much more often than I would expect. Should I get this checked out? Have any of you come across the same problem? I would guess it could have something to do with the sub vibrating the changer, but....
Thanks for any knowledge,
Rob

6000 miles (on sport suspension) and it has never skipped. I cannot imagine that higher volume increases your skipping, though maybe your ability to detect it.

I once had a LOUD house party and it happened the same way. My amp and CD player was drawing power from the same outlet/fuse. IT WAS THE CURRENT! Current drawn by amp in deep bass made supply current/voltage drop to CD player, causing it to skip. Use a separate power source to your cd player to confirm this is the case.
My suggestion to you - try a in-line power capacitor to your amp. If not, you need a higher rated alternator. email me if you need further help!

Make sure your suspension setting is right (tabs on side of CD player. I had a 97 Aude w/ cd changer mounted horizontally on deck, and it skipped whenever the music was loud (especally if it had bass). The suspension setting was on vertical. This is probably your problem (Unless you have something like a 1/4 ohm impedance 6 subwoofer system that is drawing ungodly amounts of power to a aftermarket amp, i don't think your problem is from competition for power).
my $.02
Chris

After living with this same problem since November, I decided to mention this to the dealer.
They swapped out the player and I have not had a skip yet. Mine was skipping about four or five times a day, now it's perfect, even with the 40 PSI my dealer put in the tires!
S. Egli
