am i correct in thinking that relocating the map sensor in a tube that is of much larger diameter would cause it to read low temporarily until the larger ID tube pressurized. prehaps causing some more lag in the system?

like on the a4 1.8t, the map sensor is in the IC (large volume), would moving it inline with the intake tubing help or hurt?

that is located at the top of the stock SMIC. Just adding the larger IC tube is going to cause more lag once you start making boost and again after you shift. The only reason you would need a larger ID for the tube is if your moving more air flow then it can handle.

You cant move it to the intake tube since that tube is before the turbo and is always in a vacuum state while the car is running.

5 milliseconds?

Doubt it would make much difference.

Still waiting to hear what he is trying to achieve.

i think my question is pretty much answer judging by the reponses so far. :)

having too large a tube locally near the sensor.

even if it did work...that means there is a higher pressure in the system than what the sensor is reading. So you might get a lean condition. Probably not though, as long as the MAF is working ok. Seems like alot of hassle for no real gain.
