Hey people, I purchased a Piggy back computer by Dastec and would like to sell it. If anybody is thinking about getting a chip from some company then this is what you should be considering for it will grow with your modifications and you can do your own tuning and not have to put up with somebody elses tune. This is the installers kit and not just the computer, it comes with the Tuning pots and the install binder which not only tells you how to install it but all about tuning in general. I paid 2100 USD for this kit but some unforseen sircomstances has parted me with my days of performance items. I would like 1500 CDN for the kit which includes the computer, tuning pots, cables to connect to piggy back computer, cable to conect to notebook computer, these are for tuning the piggy back and a very thick binder of information, all connector ends and such for the install. I am not a mechanic but have installed such things as stereos and alarms and don't believe that with the schematics for my vehicle I could have installed this in my car and so could you. now when you make a change like the exhaust you can retune the computer so it will know you have the ability to handle more air.

If you are looking at chipping then don't pass this up.

1500 CDN Brand new never installed still in box

I also have a Greddy Profec B also new in box never installed.
Need 600 CDN paid 900 CDN

Used ones can be had on ebay for around $250 US

If you really paid 900 CDN, you got ripped.

Is it the original, or Spec II version? I'm interested, but not at that price.

ok after some time fooling around and trying to make this thing work properly for few weeks now, i think i finally got it.

you have

BOOST [%]
GAIN [%]
SET GAIN [PSI] (start boost)

on my setup, 37% BOOST & 16% GAIN = 17.5psi
my start boost was set @ 15.5psi, always below 17.5psi.

last night, for some reason i set start boost to 19 psi, and what do i see? a stable non fluttering boost of 16 ~ 16.5 psi pulling all the way to redline. I still have to try it on 5th on the highway but i just don't get WTF start boost is all about, but i guess as long its way above my set boost, it doesn't flutter.

so maybe spec 2 is usable after all.

would a profec B help me keep my wastegate closed @ lower rpm/boost?

I believe mine never closes fully now, unless I really tighten it, but then I get too much boost... Dont want to run above 22-24psi!
tried disconnecting the MBC closing the WG entirely. Run like mad then. 17psi @ 2700rpm and 26psi@3500rpm (had to drop off then!!)

BTW, its an 1.8T with gt28r.

How bout the profec e-01??

Mine was stuck at 17-18psi, and I kept cranking on it, then it shot up to 26psi, and I had to back it off quite a bit, just to get it down to 23psi.

Could be the spring is worn, or the ball inside isn't 100% seated.

People like the original Profec B because it doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles, it just controls boost, that's it.
