I'll be picking it up tommorow sometime in the afternoon. Anyone have any tips on a break in that only involves new pistons, rings and valves? I've heard its not bad to get on it moderately to help the rings set better.

no real boost and take it up in steps for the rpms.

The more pressure you can push on the rings, the more they'll set. This is especially important in the first few miles when the cylinders are at their roughest.
Lots of flaming to come, hold on to your butts, they're just not ready.

so I never know what to believe. When we bought a honda back in 87, they told us to flog it a little and vary the revs a lot.

they suggest a gradual increase of rps every couple hundred miles up to 1000mi., where you should be running all the way to redline on occasion. EX. stay below 3000rpm the first 200mi. then to 5000rpm the next 200mi. ect..... I supose the theory is to seat throughout the entire range.
