16396 - Cam-Timing Adj. Bank 1: Retard Setpoint Not Reached

This all started I after i chipped the ECU, but now i have the stock chip but problem still there.

When I go full throtle the valve train start to make a funny noise.

If we erase the errors, the 16396 will stay.

My technician says that the device that activate the variable cam timming is not recieving the signal to activate.

Any recommendations on what we need to check?
