View Full Version : Service manual for A4? Jon 09-23-1999, 11:17 AM Any recommendations on the best service manual for the A4 (Haynes, etc.)? Jon Bob Petruska 09-23-1999, 04:37 PM - JDietz 09-23-1999, 07:04 PM Ray Calvo 09-23-1999, 08:16 PM From descriptions, this appears to be similar to Porsche manuals - loose-leaf binders, you can update it periodically as updates are published (although how you find out about them I don't know). So, anybody know if the longer you wait, the more updated is the manual? I'm thinking to get one in early '00; hopefully then all updates for my 98.5 will be incorporated. Flawed rationale? Bob Petruska 09-24-1999, 01:50 PM - Bob Petruska 09-24-1999, 01:54 PM I have spoke with them every 6 months since Jan 1997 and it was always "in the next six months!". Now they say NO! I can see why as I now own the official factory set from Dyment. For Bentley to do any justice to the the manual, they would need to basically copy the factory set and it would probably cost $400. So why not just buy the Dyment set for $400. The Bentley manual for the Audi 100 was $260 and had 1/3 the number of pages the Dyment A4 set has! JDietz 09-24-1999, 08:06 PM I didn't realize the 100 manual was so expensive. Hopefully I won't need it or I will have access to one through a quattro club. JDietz '97 A4 tqms |
