when should he start to worry? He said he has 93 octane in the tank, with an X-chip, FMIC, CAI, 3" exhaust, and the Race N75 valve (boost is hitting 27psi, and slowly dropping).. The chip btw is programed for 19psi..

My question besides the worrying part, is why timing is being pulled so much? My car with pretty much the same mods (minus the race N75) is not pulling timing past 4 degrees.. Personally, I think its because the little K04 is being pushed outside its efficiency range with boost levels being as high as they are on this car (mine sees about 21psi) and therefore creating too much heat for the system..

What do the experts say?

Tell him to yank the ECS valve and try the stocker. Then log block 20 and 115 (boost) and see what you get.

Ambient temps were in high 40's to low 50's. The car is obviously a 225TT.. and the 93 octane has been replaced with 94, with a slight power butt dyno increase, but I'd like to do some logs with it. I'll try the stock one again, and log those blocks.

The ECU will retard the timing as the temps go up.

Timing correction, which John is showing is basically showing how much retard my ecu is putting in for each cyllinder at a given rpm/boost level.

When temps are too high, or compression is, etc... timing will be pulled back to eliminate the chance for knocking/pinging. You don't want the system to have to pull back basically.

And the pre turbo is samco'd.....
