View Full Version : Followup on V6 oil cooler install on the 1.8T......

Previous posts I showed install pics, but didn't see any real cooler temps other than the oil warmed up much quicker.

Today, I had the opportunity to run it at Summit point, and I also checked with other 1.8T drivers to compare. My temps never went over 225, yet everyone I talked to was hitting 250. Success.

i find the fact that the oil warmed up quicker a big plus. s4's use different filters right?

Either filter can be used, I used the bigger one since more oil would contribute to lower temps, and larger filter would have more filtering/increased cooling surfaces, although insignificant.

i remember there was a nub that needed to be ground off?

Both use the bigger filter.
