There are several "off-shelf" kits available

The cup/autox/track kit has working spring rates of 455F/685R. Special main tender springs and mono-ball aluminum upper strut bearings are some of the features with this one. It's the closest thing to the Real Deal Holyfeild w/o going custom. The kit costs about 3.6k new.

The regular more streetable kit for that car has 270-295F/300-350R packages. If your friend finds a kit from a turbo be aware that the kit is going to be a tad softer in the rear but nothing huge - just compensation for novice drivers (rasing hand) when the boost kicks in so the rear gum doesnt break loose. Both the NA kit and turbo kit will work for the 993. The street kit's 2.3k new IIRC.
