A co-worker and I were checking out my new 2.8QMS. I hit the panic alarm, and instead sounding the horn, it uses a device in the back that sounds like a horn. Only problem is that it's not that loud. We opened the trunk to find where it was coming from... seems to be right above the tool box. With the trunk open, it sounds like it should. I guess my point is that while Audi did a good job insulating road noise, they also hindered the panic alarm... maybe they should have just used the horn?

One thing I have to give older American cars points for is awesome horns. When I hit the horn in my '78 Caprice Classic POS, EVERYONE knew it. Oh well, guess that's a trade off I'll just have to live with ;-).

It's just inside the trunk. It's plenty loud if it goes off while your inside the car stealing it. It's also not so irritating when it goes of accidentially; the neighbors don't come looking for you with a cattle prod when the car gets bumped, or in the middle of the night when you lock your car.
