Talked to my CarOrder rep today (who had located my car for me at a local dealer), and she said CarOrder refuses to do any leases and only will do purchases. In other words, even if the purchase price is exactly the same (i.e. either I'm buying it or the AofA leasing company is buying it for the same price), carorder.com will do the purchase transaction but they will not do the lease transaction.

This doesn't make any sense to me on an economic level since it's all the same to carorder. Also, it doesn't make sense because during the on-line ordering process, there was a check box if you were planning on leasing.

Has anyone who used carorder leased their vehicle? Or has everyone bought their cars?

However, you have to arrange it yourself, perhaps through AofA. In other words, you will not buy the car from carorder.com. They never receive title. They merely arrange for you to buy it from a dealer. The dealer can assist you with financing options if you need it.

I ordered my car through carorder.com but leased it through a bank where I live.

carorder.com won't do leases because they don't have a relationship with aoa finicial and can't only autherised dealer can have that realationship.Therfore when a manufactorer has a special subvented program all of these buying services are out!And leaseing in my area accounts for more than half of all premium brands sales.

YOU probabley got ripped off,a local bank cannot match the residuals of AoA or any national leasing company.

Dave Leibenson at Rector Porsche/Audi/Cadillac in Burlingame CA seems to be the only carorder.com dealer participant at this time...So, if you try to order an A4 from Carorder.com...it will go to Dave (most likely)

I was prepared to lease through AofA to take advantage of the rebates they are offering. My authorized and independent Audi dealer suggested I lease through a local bank because the rates were cheaper, the residual was the same AND AofA still provides the rebate. As a skeptic and an MBA in Finance and Accounting, I plotted all the financial decisions (lease vs. buy vs. finance) in an Excel spreadsheet and determined that the best deal was to lease the car through the local bank as the dealer suggested. My effective interest rate, with rebate, was about 4%. I had intended to pay cash, but at 4%, I can invest in a relatively secure instrument and come out ahead. If you would like for me to email the spreadsheet to you, I will.
