I'm finally about to purchase a giac chip for my 98 A4 1.8T. Can any Canadians give me some advice on how to get my ecu across the border with the least amount of grief (i.e duty, taxes)and as fast as possible? A friend of mine told me if I mark the package as "used/repair" it will go through customs no problem without any duty charges.

um, where are you in? There's a GIAC distributor (i think the only Canadian one) around Vancouver... can't find their web address, but their e-mail is , so you might wanna try e-mailing them.

Hi, I think the Vancouver distributor is called PDR or PBR Performance. I don't quite remember. It is a residential house instead of a shop. I think he is quite well-known in Richmond, if you ask around, you should be able to find out.
