A S4 bumper will work on a 1999.5 or newer A4 with no problem, but you may have problems if your car is older than a 1999.5. I noticed when I was trying to see if I could put one on my car that on the earlier A4s the points where the bumper cover secures to the car are in a slightly different locations. My A4 is a 1999.5 though, and I was able to install the bumper with ease.

You can get an S4 bumper from any Audi dealership. I am not quite sure about the price because I work at an Audi dealership and got a substantial discount.
