I would like to get opinions on how much louder the car gets after installing a MC intake.

The most annoying noise was the part-throttle sucking from the DV being open. Got a lot better after switching to a Forge valve though, since it doesn't open until manifold vacuum is greater.

The DV release noise is very cool.

Its all of the same noises the car makes anyway.
Just opened up! How is that for subjectivity? :-)

No, not loud at all, it does turn up my Borla a bit, more growl, but still very clean & tight!
Minimizes the very airy WOT 1st & 2nd, adds growl
as opposed to rushing air sound I got before.

A very nice Mod to enhance, GIAC & Exhaust!

it's considerably louder...maybe the VVT version of the 1.8T is louder than the fixed valve timing...hmm.

there is are some rather obvious ones at low engine speeds with throttle open...i.e. lugging it a little, sounds cool IMHO. I don't dislike any of the noises...but if you claim it's no louder under load you're either one of two things...deaf or lying.

It definitely makes more sound than stock, hence, it's louder.

But to most people the extra sounds are great. I luv the sound personally. It lets people know that you aren't running stock anymore.

To describe the sound.... When revving hard at low rpms, there is a nice low "exhaust type" sound coming from the engine. Between shifts there is a whoosing sound (ala BPV). When driving under normal conditions on the freeway (aka maintaining speed) it doesn't make much noise at all.
