I drive a 99.5 1.8T sport w/ Koni's and H&R sports. I'm trying to get rid of the understeer, but have come to the conclusion that rear sway bars are pretty much the only way to go. But which one should I go for? What's the major difference between the two? Wasn't there something about sway bars cracking the car's frame? Thanks..

I have had a couple people recommend the 19mm to compliment the sport front sway bar. The comments I heard on the 22mm is that the car tends toward oversteer and the ride quality on the road deteriorates a lot (much more body movement in response to single wheel bumps).
The frame cracking is around the crossmember mounting brackets from added stress. I think the Neuspeed kit comes with reinforcement plates - I am waiting on my 19mm Neuspeed kit to arrive so dont know for sure yet.

...I've had the 22 for six months and I run 2+ track events per month plus at least 500 street miles a week. As of two weeks ago, no cracks. The brackets that Neuspeed provide are STOUT! I wouldn't worry about the cracking. As far as the oversteer issue goes, there are two settings on the swaybar. IMHO, they are equivalent to understeer and nuetral/slight oversteer. I love the latter setup. Don't bother with the 19mm.

with the 22 you can induce some power oversteer, when I am at the limit in normal driving this can be pretty exciting, on track events it is manageable but you don't want to end up with a Porsche style rear end first romp into the tires!

The bigger bar is pointless for street driving IMHO: it is much heavier, it removes independance, it adds a lot of oversteer, etc. etc. Since you already have a stiffer suspension, you don't want to slap on a big rear bar. It is already very simple to get oversteer in the 19 mm bar. (This is mainly a matter of taste, if you drove a rwd v8, then you probably want the 22).

I ordered a Neuspeed 19mm on 10/23 from Autobahn International, based on their presence in Aw as an advertiser. So far I am having trouble finding out if they have one to ship me, but based on some other threads I am not too optimistic.
So who can recommend a reliable source for the 19mm rear Neuspeed bar? Thanks.

GreedSpeed, Supreme Power Parts, or carparts.com (go to importhookup.com for coupon codes)

Autobahn indicated the bar was on backorder. I cancelled and went with Carparts/coupon.

I'm also thinking about getting a rear sway bar.
