View Full Version : Adjustable Cam sproket?? Who has them. Lucas_Gchips 10-27-2000, 01:01 PM Audiboy 10-27-2000, 04:53 PM chain sprocket to adjust the intake cams, but that is after you adjust the (adjustable if there is one) exhaust timing belt sprocket. It really seems better if you can somehow adapt the adjusting chain tentioner found on the 2.8's and 2.7T's, and have variable intake timing or fix it to a more advanced position, no? Oh yes, for other folks, this is because the timing belt drives the exhaust cam and a chain connects the two together Heck, I just had another idea. You can have someone fabricate a chain tensioner such that you can slack the chain (top vs bottom) to provide more advanced position. Same effect as positioning an adjustable cam sprocket - for the intake at least. BIG NIPPER 10-27-2000, 06:04 PM timing by itself to compensate at different RPMS. This is what my tech told me. I am not sure, maybe he is a full of ****. -Eric Todd W 10-27-2000, 08:33 PM Lucas has an older car, only the 2001 has the variable valve timing. I forget which cam it moves, but it only has 2 positions. Allowed one to adjust the powerband up or down the rpm range. Basically a "made for VW" item but fits Audi 10V cams. |
