We've had our 2.8 for almost a month and every time I use the fluid, we get an unbelievably strong smell in the cabin. Is the fluid too concentrated? Has anyone else had this problem?

I had actually had some dry up on my black avant and had to rewax to get the spots off. Needless to say, I drained it almost completely and refilled with water.

I find it kind of odd that they use an OEM fill with such a high concentration of alcohol. Granted, it is a reasonable solvent and dries quickly, but ooohhhh that smell!

While we're on the topic of powerful-smelling washer solvent, has anyone refilled with isopropyl alcohol and water? I actually LIKE the way the Audi stuff smells.

The following steps can help if you don't like the smell of the windshield fluid:
1) Press the climate control "Auto" button
2) Press the "Re-circ" button
3) Clean the windshield
4) Wait a minute or two and re-adjust the climate controls if neccessary
This way, you shouldn't be getting outside air and you shouldn't have to deal with the smell of the windshield washer fluid.
