I am about to install HR sport springs into my 99 a4 1.8t with the sport suspension.
I am not replacing the shocks, just the springs. I heard that it is recommended that
I should get a re-alignment if I install new springs. How anybody done the same,
and did you re-align? Why/Why Not?

I'm not sure because I haven't done it myself, but I think those springs are progressive and get lower over time. Unless your alignment is screwey from the beginning, I would wait a few months and let the springs settle in. (someone please correct me if I am wrong.)

Some folks say you need to check the alignment; some don't.

When I went from the OEM sport to Neuspeed springs, my camber alignment changed (due to the lowering of the car) but everything else was within spec. Later on, I switched to the H&R sports and, again, the changes were minimal.

Of course, being a bit of a worrywort, I had the alignment checked both times. But, as I found out, it wasn't really necessary. Of course, your experience might be different, but I'd consider driving the car first to see how it handles.

I installed H&R coil-overs onto my car, and the alignment was bad... but you're only lowering your car 15-20mm , so you *should* be good. BUT...

It's always a good idea. Your toe will be slightly affected, becoming slightly more toe-out than what you have now, making the car turn-in better, but less stable in a straight line.

Any other questions, feel free to e-mail me.
