My 2.8 has been sitting for 2 days and upon trying to start it up today it wouldn't turn over. After a few cranks it finally started and smelled terribly of gasoline. Is it possible that it was flooded with only 3K miles? Runs fine now. Any thoughts?

How where you trying to start it? When starting most Euro cars you are best engaging the starter until the car fires up (do not go past 10 -12 seconds though). Repeatedly cycling the key and engaging the starter to two or three seconds each time, only dumps more fuel into the cylinders, getting the plugs wet, making it more and more difficult to start.
