I'm looking for some more low end bass when the volume goes up. I like this system because it looks really clean and isn't too huge. I'm wondering how it'll sound though. Any ideas?

Sony XS-AW850

Actually, just the amp will be a dramatic improvement, the stock speakers can turn out surprisingly deep, powerful, clean bass when driven by a good amp. I added an Eclipse 4X40W amp and it's a whole new system. I may upgrade my speakers to a/d/s or BA pros, but have no plans to add a sub now, just doesn't need it. That looks like a neat combination, let us know how you like it.

installed a sealed box 10 inch sub. with a 200 watt amp for a lot less money. I got it all at Best Buy and installed according to FAQ. I don't listen to bass heavy music; I just like to hear some bass at lower listening levels. With this set up I get all the bass I want no matter what listening level I'm at. I don't think I even paid 300 bucks for the amp and sub. Good luck and if I can be of any help let me know.

For about $240, I installed the above Kenwood self-powered sub 30+30W RMS w/ *adjustable* Low-Pass Filter Frequency: 60Hz - 300Hz, which I consider important to blend w/ the Concert system since the stock mid-woofers really need help well above 60 Hz.

So, if you want the 4-chan. aspect of the Sony, then you might be better off w/ that one or a amp+sub DIY. The Sony doesn't put out a lot of power for a sub AND two other channels though if those are Max. ratings posted on their page (Kenwood lists RMS too). But, for the performance, price and the clean install, I highly recommend the Kenwood especially over the Bazooka (if you are at all considering it).

There are lots of archived posts regarding installation of a powered sub to the Concert radio. I highly recommend it (whatever you choose)....it really transforms the system.
