I wouldnt bother if I were you. I have a 98 2.8 30v Quattro Sport and in day to day driving I would not say it would be worth it. You have---cheaper insurance,less gas, less overall cost,better after market parts availability.Kevin

I wasn't too impressed with the stock 1.8T. I test drove both and ended up with the 2.8 QMS. I've been very happy with it. It has good stock performance and the interior with the leather really stands out in my opinion. I suppose it would depend on the hit you have to take trading in your 1.8. <p>You may be better off chipping if you really only care about the power. Odds are any repair that you may have to cover because of the chip will end up less expensive than the hit you take in trading in the 1.8 for a 2.8.<p>Mark (98.5 2.8 QMS)

Do the Neuspeed/Greedspeed chip at only $189 and call it a day! That's better than taking a beating on your trade!<br>

I have a 1.8 and have driven my Mom's 2.8 extensively. Really isn't that big of a difference. A little more low end and smoother, but not worth the hit your gonna take, IMO.
