Has anyone taken bought or ordered their car in Southern California using carorder.com? If so, what dealer is carorder.com using to handle their transactions?

Thanks!

He has a '00 1.8T on order for Nov/Dec delivery. Carorder.com is getting the car through Burlingame (sp?) up north. It's the same dealership Sean Griffin (of seansa4page.com fame) got his car from. I think they will arrange to have the car transported to SoCal at no charge to the buyer.

I did order a silver A4 Avant 1.8T sport susp. and seats with stick in May and should be getting a Y2K model by the end of this month according to Rector in Burlingame - dealer with whom carOrder is doing business in CA.
The sales guy (David) told me 2 weeks ago "it's on the water (ship) right now" and it's coming thru Houston, TX.
I live in LA.

Thanks to you both. It sounds like Rector Motors in Northern CA is the dealer for all of CA. This concerns me slightly because you are basically agreeing to purchase the car sight unseen--you sign the papers, fork over the cash, the a flat bed delivers the car. In past purchases, I've always gone over my specific car with a fine tooth comb at the dealership before agreeing to take delivery. I suppose an anal-retentive's peace of mind is the price we pay to save the $750 or $1000 dealer margin you'd pay locally.

I am in LA and have the same concerns. David at Rector seems very good, but I am considering flying up to look it over, test-drive, etc. Then let Carorder truck it down to LA...In past instances, Carorder paid to fly people in to sign paperwork, but it seems to vary. To me, its worth $70-80 airfare to document any scratches, etc. by Rector, before shipment.

That's not a bad idea. Just pay for the airfare out of the $1000 savings.... Of course, you might not have 3 weeks notice to buy a cheap fare.
