Well, it wasn't quite as simple as I hoped. Not that I'm much of a hands person, but installed the APR 1 Bar ECU and K&N Filter this evening.. The ECU Really would be pretty easy, except in the 99.5's there's the big piece of plastic covering the whole top of the engine bay .. in the way... But the real pain was getting the 5th screw in the back of the ECU box out. That took a bit of patience. Once I got it out, I didn't put it back!! Don't want that frustration again!
And for the Air filter, don't know about anyone else.. But if I were to do that again, I'd bring it to the local foreign auto shop and pay them $20 to do it.. What a pain !! That took longer than the ECU. Maybe there's a trick I just don't have the hang of yet..
But anyways, down to the meat of the issue... It is a MUCH faster car. Particularly in the mid and high range, where I actually felt the car was a bit weak before. The power seems to be more linear as the revs increase. Definitely worth the bucks, but keep in mind that there is a little frustration involved on the install.
