Depending on the damage, the dealer may be able to fix it quite easily. My front bumper was hanging on the passengers side, so i took it to the dealer. He told me that it's quite common, and happens when you hit an obstable like a parking stop. They were able to reuse the clips and only charged me the labor which ran about 100 dollars (ouch). I think it's rather unfortunate that this happens easily, considering the cost of repairing it. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Phil, I'll pop into my local AUDI dealer and see what he suggests. I'll have to be more careful in future. I've only had the A4 for 5 months and am very mad at myself.
Cheers, Tony
I am getting my 99.5 1.8QM next week sometime (just finalizing what color I want and stuff) and just found out that it doesn't have a trip computer.
So I just wanted to ask if it is really something worth having, or if it really doesn't matter. What are your opinions??
Thanks,
Vitt

I bought my 99.5 1.8T FWD less than a month ago, and I don't really think it's a big deal. The most useful feature is the outside temperature, and I'm not even sure that's a function of the computer or not. It might be standard. The mileage information was cool at first but now just depresses me since I have a very short drive to work with many stops, and I rarely get to drive it out on the highways. Damn the congested life in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. It will be more fun on a long trip, but for everyday driving, I don't think you will miss it.

All of my previous Audi's have had the trip computer, it is nice, but not nearly as important to me as Sport Pkg, or maybe cold climate group. In my '91 100, the trip computer with LCD display was a source of irritation, when cold-the LCD panel would get goofy and do it's own geographic designs-finnaly took a new printed circuit board and lots of $$$$ to fix it. If the rest of the car is what you want (color equip, etc) I would not let the trip computer be a deal breaker.

But for only two hundred dollars you WILL kick yourself later for not getting it. (Because it is fun somtimes) ... and its great for watching your fuel economy which is related to engine condition. OH,. and then there is the Safety messages that will pop up working in conjunction with the radio for accidents ahead etc...
