I've noticed VW, Volvo, and Audi cars have serious problems with brake dust, almost always on the front wheels. I've got a '92 Prelude, and I never get even close to that kind of grime.
When I get my 2.8, can I just go buy a set of Honda OEM pads? They stop just fine, unlike what I've read here about Rofren and Mintex pads.
I won't be able to put up with brake dust, so I'll have to replace them with something. Suggestions?

My BMW 328IC is worse than the A6 Audi. I just spray S4 on the wheels, use a long handled brush to scrub them quick, and hose 'em off. They come out shiny and bright in a few minutes.
I can't really say that the BMW pads are any worse than the Audi's, but it gets driven harder than the A6 Avant, which is a barge by comparison.
Benz is similar, at least mine were. No idea what material Honda specs on their pads, so I can't comment on that.

You can't put a Honda brake pad on an A4 any more than you can put Apple parts into a PC. Just about every make and model of car uses different pads. They just won't physically fit different applications, and even if they did, you would be asking for trouble. There are aftermarket pads that fit the A4, as you have noted. I would advise that you stay away from "racing" type pads for street use and they don't work well unless warm/hot. Most of the aftermarket pads do have less dust, however.
It is apparently the case that at least some of the pads that don't have as much dust put more wear on the rotors instead of the pads themselves. Eventual rotor replacement isn't all that expensive, though.
