I have only had the Neuspeed chip for about 2 months and 2 thousand miles, but I am very happy with it. There have been no reliablity problems to date (start up, stalling, any noticable change on those matters).
I have not driven a car with one of the 1.0 bar chips, but I think the increase in performance is excellent. Driving conservatively around town the car feels and sounds stock, except for a noticable (and welcomed) increase in low-rpm torque. Get above about 3500 rpm, however, and the car flies! There is a LOT more power and the car is very quick. Especially at highway passing speeds.
As a note, my mileage (after I got done playing the first week or so!) has increased 1 to 2 mpg in all situations.
MikeS 98 1.8T qms
