The seats are a dark tan/gray color and the dash and trim are a darker reddish type brown (what I would call Clay). Overall I am real happy with the color combination. It blends nice with the rest of the car. The pictures don't do it justice.
My car was delivered to dealer on 7/2/99 and I bought on 7/7/99 and I think it was newly introduced combination.

I have the exact some combination. The best way I can think of to describe Clay is a cross between Tan and Gray - as stated earlier. NOT Dark Brown. The darker color he mentions is referred to as Cabernet - used on the dash and top of the doors above the trim strip. The two together look great IMO and go nicely with the wood strip in the 2.8's. I think this combo looks good with the darker exterior colors.

I've also seen the clay on a 1.8T (Melange exterior) in cloth. The entire interior looked like it was Clay (no Cabernet) and I didn't think that this looked as good - it was missing the contrast that I personally enjoy in so many of the Audi interiors (once again my opinion only). Its worth it to find a car on a dealer's lot where you can view in person.

Arch57, first, cool combo, I like the Santorin Blue with Clay leather, haven't seen it but it sounds great. I have the H. Red with Cabernet/Ecru and after studying my interior and then looking at the Clay Advance (Melange exterior) on the showroom floor I am convinced that the Clay Advance has Cabernet upper dash and Clay lower dash just like my Cabernet/Ecru. I think the upper dash has reddish tints in certain lights (hence Cabernet I guess) while the lower is usually a grey tint. The Clay leather looks dark grey to me, much darker than Opal. Have you had a chance to compare your interior to a Cabernet/Ecru? Just curious.
