I'm suppose to pick up my audi 2.8, tiptronic, tomorrow. Really looking forward to it, but wondering if I should cancel and wait for 2000 to get suspension/chassie enhancements. Love the red dash light in the 99 though.

Any thoughts?

I held off on the 99.5 waiting for a 2000. I say for an extra month or 2 just wait, The new dash is one reason not to get it but the enhancments you spoke of plus a standard trip, and In dash (with improved stereo) are reasons to wait. Not to mention the fact that you can say you drive a REALLY new car... If such shallow things are of interest to you :)

And then, when that arrives, wait for the ALL NEW 2001 model (just speculation on that). Get my point? Audi makes changes and improvements all the time. Frequently, mid-year changes are more substantial than new-year changes. It's getting to be more like buying a computer all the time. At some point, you just have to plop down your money and do it. Only you can decide whether the wait is worth it to get a few more features.

But that is something that is important to me. You need to figure out what's important to you. But if it's only a 2 month wait...I would.

Personally, I prefer the CD player in the trunk. The up-front CD player will get awfully hot in the summer. With a light colored exterior, the CDs in the trunk seem much less likely to be damaged from heat. Also, be careful of CD players that slide in a single CD -- I've seen many CD's scratched in those.

I don't understand why people want the in-dash CD player. I've had CD-changers and in-dash CD players in previous cars. I CAN'T STAND in-dash CD players. #1, yoou've always got to bring a bunch of CD's with you in the car, and worry about inserting them, taking the old ones out and putting them back inside the case or cases while you're driving. They end up being thrown on the floor, bent, scratched, broken, etc. #2, it is not a din size unit. If you ever want to upgrade, it will be a pain in the a$$.

...I use mine really, is if someone else brings a CD along, or if I buy a new CD at the store and want to play it on the way home. Otherwise, it really doesn't get used much.

The only pet peeve (or laziness) of the rear-mounted CD-Changer is when you are lazy to change discs and listened for a very long time. I haven't changed CDs in both A4 and Jetta since early summer but I will change it as I have more times on the road when the school starts. Other than that, the CD changer is better cause some Japanese and America's CD players look cheapo. Just look at the Camry Solara and Grand Prix. They look pretty flimsy, isn't it? Also one more reason why discs on front is not good. Those car thieves with broke into your car in order to steal your Whitney Spree and Jewel CDs because he loves them not they want to steal your "WHOLE" car away.

My S4 has Xenons, there forward range is very poor about half the range of my performance halogens in my Subaru WRX, the blue refraction is really distracting, oncoming traffice flash me all the time, sure the light the side of the road up really well but who cares i aint driving sideways i want to see forward.

I can only comment on the newer BMW's, Acura's and MB's that I see with Xenon and they annoy the crap out of me. I've never driven with them but they really blind me and obviously others if people are flashing.
I read a brief article in USA Today (aren't they always brief) that the NHTSA is looking into Xenons because of the complaints from other drivers.
