Was wonder if the A4 & Passat Oil filters have the same part numbers.

Since both have same engines (1.8T & 2.8).

Does this mean they are the same price.

Any ideas?

(the A4 oil filter # is: 034-115-561-A

unless they also sells Audis there also.
You will be surprise to see how interchangable the VW/Audi filter are. I was browsing through one of those oil filter charts; I found that there are maybe just 2 or 3 variations in the entire VW and Audi line up since the mid 70s.

The part number for my 1999 a4 1.8t oil filter is THE SAME
as my 1993 VW Cabriolet (1.8l).

Matches what I heard about the block being based on the tried-and-true
VW block (no flames please, I just read it!)

The oil filter fitting unit is separate from that of the block. VW and Audi are just using the same manufacturer for the filter fitting unit, thats all. Much like VW and Audi brake caliper parts, manufactured by Lucas.
