Finally took the plunge. Ordered a 1.8TQMS yesterday, sport seats, sunroof, volcano black/opal gray. I paid 5.5% over the invoice of $25,116 (or did that invoice go up by 1% on Jan. 5th? In that case I paid 4.5% :-).
I'm having serious second thoughts about the opal gray, though. Does anyone have this combination? Should I change it to Volcano/Onyx? I can call my dealer Monday & change it if I want.
My dealer changed one of the "lite silver" cars already on the build slate to volcano black for me, thus ensuring that my car will be a 99.5. It's scheduled to arrive 'round about late April, so I have 3.5 months of agonizing wait ahead of me.

This decision came after months of obsessing and overanalyzing, and with a LOT of help from the fine folks on this board. I'm excited beyond belief about the A4, and have no regrets about not choosing the other finalist, a '97 328. So, profuse thanks to all y'all, and, for the first time, I am....
Vik Sinha
1.8TQMS Volcano Black/Opal Gray, now ISO Garrett chip and short shift kit
(I *really* like the looks of that .sig! :-)

Great decision your car... what about Ecru leatherette tho? (If you are going for leatherette, that is, you didn't specify). The contrast between the black and white interior would make it look quite impressive, I think. Will get less hot in the summer, too.
Just my $.02...
- Stan
BOSE is BOSE and they are self-powered, not driven off another amp. Generally I've been told if you want to change BOSE speakers, you must pull the ENTIRE system and replace EVERTHING. I've been told this by very high-end A-V/mobile shops. Also very difficult to add a after-market CD changer as almost evey manufacturer makes their stuff propriatary.
