While I was having Ernst over at Diablo Audi write me up a price quote the other day (6.5% over invoice) for my future 1.8T (more below on that), it seems that as of January 5th, the invoice prices went up about 1%. My numbers (from intellichoices site, which were the same as on Edmunds and KBB) were all off by a few bucks. He showed me the price sheet from Audi, and lo and behold, they were higher.
Anybody else heard about this?
Also, a question-- when he was writing up my quote, he tagged on a $150 advertising fee... the car isn't even there yet.. should I get him to knock that off?
Thanks...
-- Jeff
Future Owner:
A4 1.8TQMS, onyx cloth and everything else ;-)

I just got my '00 silver 1.8Tqms yesterday. I hated the 10 spoke wheels. I got the dealer to swap for the 5 spoke from a 2.8. It cost $300 but IMHO it was worth it. Remember sport rims are 16" and 1.8's have 15" standard.

I agree that the 5-spoke wheels are MUCH more attractive than the 10-spokers. I'm (hopefully) getting an A4 in the spring and have already considered this issue ... unfortunately, it's not something that can be done at the factory (swapping wheels), but it's certainly easy enough for the dealer to pull off (maybe for a few extra $$$).

BTW, I now drive a '98 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition, and I think the five-spoke wheels really make the car.

I like that there are rims unique to the sport package.

I haven't seen the 10-spokes in person, but in some pics they look okay.

I really wouldn't want to clean the 10-spokes. If you get them, get a good brush.

Your remark about wanting a little change may be the decider.

There are some very nice aftermarket wheels to consider down the road, if needed.

If your exterior color choice is Light Silver, I would get 'em. It complements the car beautifully.

I just took delivery of a Light Silver 2.8 with the sport package, and was pleasantly suprised how nice they look.

I, too, just took delivery of my new 00 1.8TQMSX Avant, in light silver. Lots of friends looking at the ten spoke sport wheels ask if they are 17". I agree that with the Light Silver color, they are very complimentary. I, too, thought I would change for the 5-spokers, but on seeing the new sport wheels, I've change my mind.

Plus..it lets people know you have a 00 model.
