Just got off the phone with them. They say that they are jacking up prices due to the demand. I think before they were just getting slash and burn discounts from dealers to chuck the 99s for cheap. Now that the numbers are dwindling they are trying to slow demand for the 2000 models. Nice tactic huh?!!!

All the time CarOrder.com has been selling at invoice (or below), delivering cars via flatbed, etc., the dealers have been charging them a competitive price ($1K over invoice?). Don't believe for a second that the dealers were dumping their '99s. No way CarOrder.com can afford to subsidize sales like that forever. At this point, they've gotten their name around, which was why they were selling cars so cheap. Now they've got to make some money (or at least stop losing it!).

I really feel bad for everyone who was holding off. I almost waited until too late, but this time I managed to get lucky, timing-wise.

As many of us already know many of these auto dealers have actually taken loses to get business. They can't do business like this forever due to simple ecomonics. I have a feeling that most of us with any kind of relationship with our Audi dealers will be able to make a better deal on our own in the future.

As for another post, most Audi's are marked up from about $3200 to around $4200. $2600 over invoice is not any kind of stellar deal. That's only $500 of MSRP on an A4.
