After I got back my car from getting a valve cover gasket fixed, I noticed that the rear latch of the plastic cover was loose. When I tried to latch it down, I found out that the mount was missing, as in it was completely sawed off.

When inquiring about it, found out that the techs often do it since it dramatically shortens the time it takes do replace a valve cover gasket since it makes access easier.

I'm not particularly upset about it, it looks a little weird and it didn't damage the structure, but I thought it was very very odd.

Anyone else who had valve cover gasket leaks notice this?
