Any opinion on the A4 integrated foglights from Lltek? How's the fit? Does it require any mods to the bodywork(cutting to make them fit)? How bright are they?<p>I was also curious about the hi performance headlights from Lltek. Are they really an improvement to the stock plastic lenses?<p>Thanks!<br> <p><br>

I picked up a set of the European headlights about a month ago while they were on sale. I also bought a set of PIAA SuperWhite H4 bulbs (from Autobahn Int'l). The lights are the Valeo units and came with a set of clear corner markers and a set of no-name H4 bulbs.<p>The light output is definitly broader and more even. The sharp cutoff took me a little while to get used to, but I've adjusted to it well. I still need to properly aim them (I'll use Stern's lighting web site as a reference). The high beams are fantastic...it turns night into day, especially with the SuperWhite bulbs. The lenses are glass as you mentioned. Installation was straightforward also. All-in-all, a good upgrade if you're interested in seeing better at night.<p>Andy Hedin<br>'97 A4 1.8Tqms, Wett 1.0 Bar Chip, ABT Filter, blah, blah, blah

The headlights are a VAST improvement over the DOT units..and you can run some hefty bulbs in them if you desire (just make sure to upgrade the wiring. I have a set of 100/130 watt bulbs coming soon.. They won't cause distraction to other drivers due to the precise light control of the lens/housing design.<p>You could try aftermarket bulbs all day (er, night) in the DOT housings, and you'd still NEVER equal the light of the European-spec units.<p>Rich Quinlan<ul><li><a href="http://home.att.net/~richquinlan">Quinland</a></li></ul>

I like the idea of integrated fogs and separate bulbs for high and low beams. <p>But if the Xenons are reasonable (say $1500), I will get those and the extra fogs, or so I keep dreaming.<p>Anyone has the Euro Bosch?<p>- Stan<br>

Thanks for the info! I'm leaning toward this upgrade with the foglights also, since I think the Xenon's will probably be way more than the cost of both!

What turbo upgrade? What tranny? Did he bog the car off the line? Was the Maxima upgraded? Maybe the other dude was just a really good driver (no offence to Kian, I don't know him or his level of driving, but it's a possiblity). Did you try several runs?
Ideally, stock Maxima 5-speed (even the new ones with 222 hp) vs a 1.8TQMS with a K04/chip/exhaust, the A4 will win every time easily.
Besides, there's more important things in life than going fast in a straight line, race the dude at a twisty track and then we'll see who wins!

With KO4 upgrade what are the 0-60 and 1/4 times? If you have the numbers are they official (from a timed track run) or just an estimate? Thanks in advance.

Ash,
I had a '95 Maxima SE 5-speed, a car which one of the mags (C&D I think) tested at 6.6 sec. 0-60. That car had a great power to weight ratio with that torquey 190 HP V6. The new Max is a little heavier I think, but with 32 more horses I'm sure it's even quicker. Any 5-speed Max will still nudge most stage 1 chipped 1.8Ts in a straight line scoot, if the drivers are of equal ability, in my opinion. I would bet it would be a close run even against a K04 1.8T. The Maxima's a darn quick family sedan, I promise. A stock 2.8 A4 should never rev at a stoplight against a Maxima. It wouldn't be pretty. The Max's engine is just better, in my opinion (and most of the car mag experts agree).
My Wett chipped '99 1.8Tqms feels about as fast as my old Maxima. But on the twisties, well, that's where the A4 shines and the Max dies, among many other things. The A4 is a far better all-around car, though, no question.

Well, I smoked a new 222HP Maxima and 227 HP I30 recently (have friends at Nissan). Of course, these were stock. Those cars have great motors and are very fun to drive in a straight line. The new Max gets most of its power from a heavily revised intake manifold. They aren't much threat once you get a new turbo upgrade.
