I also have the A6 twin turbo, 4.2, 2.8, A8, etc. I got to drive these too. Yes, I am a lucky boy. since I JUST got off the plan from California, and it is 2:11 am ET, I will hit the hay and write answers to questions tomorrow. I have full press packets for all the 2000 models. There have been NO significant body changes to the A4 line, so rest assured the cars look like the 99.5 ones.

And, if you question the validity of this, I now go to the press events because I write for the <I>quattro quarterly</I>. And the event was held in Monterey and Laguna Seca, and we drove the cars on roads in Carmel, and Hurley Haywood and Michele Alboreto gave us rides on the Laguna Seca track!

I phoned several dealers and no one had any information. I got the same line of "probably about the same price, but we'll know in a couple of weeks". Undaunted, I phoned Audi of America. They didn't have any information either. At this point I'm a bit confused. Wouldn't you think that AoA would have been part of this press event? Between email and fax, I would expect that everyone would get this information at the same time. Am I missing something here?

Thanks for the scoup on the 2000 audis. Can you tell me what are the changes in standard equipment for 2000 A4 1.8T Avant -- rumor has it that they have added a standard in-dash CD player. Has the horse power been increased?

Until the higher ups give the OK. I had the feeling my dealer knew alittle more than he was letting on but was reluctant to say anything. I guess we just have to wait.
