View Full Version : sports seats--how are they? RobS 12-09-1998, 05:37 AM That is a problem! I hope not one of mine:) ChrisA 01-08-1999, 08:34 PM I will soon be ordering a 99.5 quattro and I'm wondering if I should also get the sports seats. They look great and I tend to take corners pretty fast, but I'm worried the leather on the bolsters will wear out more quickly due to them being rubbed more to get in and out of the seat.

Kevin B. 01-08-1999, 08:41 PM KurtW 01-08-1999, 09:55 PM ....could be a little more narrow if you are slim or athletic. Concern about wearing might be valid, I rub between lower bolster and steering wheel about every time. Great seats, though, especially in leather so that they're supportive w/o grabbing. Get them. Ray Calvo 01-09-1999, 09:45 PM I did too, when the car was new. Since then, either my back has been broken in, or the seats have. Did a 6 hour drive from Pittsburgh to NYC during Santa Claus season; had to bend, arc back, twist a couple of times due to lower back discomfort, but made it stopping only once for gas and munchies. Once I got out of car, back was fine. This wasn't the case when the car was new; I couldn't drive over an hour without stopping and getting out of car to stretch.
Problem is that the lumbar support is a little over-agressive, and seems to hit me at a bad liocation. Was unlike seats in my old Coupe Quattro, which were beautiful on a trip.

|
