...the discussion of the A4's steering/front suspension. It's the best description of what many mistakenly describe as "over-assisted steering." Also, note the 328's racetrack lap advantage: less than a QUARTER OF A SECOND at Buttonwillow Raceway.

Considering that BMW get so much right, it's nice to see they aren't infallible. I don't understand why they can't make a proper sport steering wheel. Not to mention the cluttered toy-robot look.

I haven't read this issue, but I do feel what you call "over-assited steering" on an A4. I personlaly think it is too light, am I missing something?<p>

It is the top of the line in the 4 series offering. Its standard features and preformance make it an easy winner over the A4, but the cost...

Furthermore, the S4's engine is "only" a 2.7l as the cylinder walls are slightly thicker (less bore) for better reliability with the higher power.

As somebody said, if you can swing it get the S4.

Just moved to town and would like to meet some of the locals. Lets try to hook up one weekend. I Live @ 183 and McNeil so Rudy's is just around the corner. So far I've seen several A4's about. In particular there is a gorgeous green number running about with a nice set of after market rims (17in maybe?). Also noticed an almost salmon colored A4 last week. I was a little shocked because I had never seen that color.

I'm driving a pearl white 1.8Tqms, Louisiana tags, sometimes sporting a colgan bra. I've upgraded to the TAP stage II chip (12.5 lbs of boost) and installed a jamex air filter. I'll be shopping around soon for an exhaust and possibly sway bars so I would love the opportunity to take a ride with someone who has either.

Have you been in contact with any of the guys from the San Antonio gruppe? I was planning on trying to get in touch with them soon. I don't know if they have a meeting planned soon, but maybe we could all meet up and swap ideas.
