Everyone says how easy this is to install with the 4 screws, but I don't understand how any of you got even two of the screws in! The mounting bracked in my 99.5 only seems to allow access to one screw hole without removing some trunk liner. How in the heck did you guys install it without removing any liner? Or did you have to remove the liner? What parts should you remove if you have to? Thanks for the help.

I just installed the same changer a couple of days ago. I found no way around having to remove the liner. I started with the panel at the back of the trunk (8 screws) and then the left liner (one pin, one bolt). Unfortunately, you might have to remove the bracket, too (five bolts). It doesn't take too long, but it was tedious. I figured that I wouldn't be removing the changer so I'd just do the job right and install all four screws. Good luck.

You have to move the left hand trunk liner out of the way, at least. Read the CD Install FAQ for the Audi changer!
There should also be an 'X' shaped precut through which you pass the CD cable end after freeing it from the car wiring harness.
Just one 'gotcha', maybe ;-) , the black plate on the trunk floor in my car did _not_ have threaded holes as indicated in the FAQ. So be prepared with a couple of nuts to slide under the plate.
Need more help, email me directly. I just finished the CD install myself two weeks ago, so the procedure is still pretty fresh in my mind ;-)

Oooops, just noticed that you had a 99.5! You still will have to remove the liner to get at the cable.

The one piece liner also seems to extend all the way into the back seat and has little bracket that holds the left back seat-back in place on it. After taking off the pin and the bolt, can you pull the liner away enough without having to deal with that little bracket for the seat? Thanks for taking the time to help out. As you can probably tell, I'm not the most mechanical person around...
