I had a mixed experience with my first dealer. I won't bore you with every single detail but the bottom line is I have allot of sympathy for anyone whose job is to sell anything to strangers. I've worked in part-time retail since I was 16 (I'm 19 now) and I hated every second of it so I find myself being extra patient with sales people even if they are having a bad day. My problem is with body language, for example when I left and shook the dealers hand and thanked her she would not even look me in the eye, however I noticed she was all smiles and sunshine to my parents who had accompanied me for obvious reasons (again I'm 19.
Also the questions I asked were answered to my parents (often as is clear in retrospect, incorrectly) Also constant breaks in conversation while she said hi to every co-worker who walked by was a major pain.
Looking back, this rant seems to have become somewhat tangential but my underlining point is, focus on the little things to build a repore with your clients, and I think the rest will follow... no flames please this is just my humble, first car buying experience :)
