Today Andy Hedin posted that AWE had told him that the proper ECU reset procedure was to disconnect the ECU then start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Common belief has been that you disconnected then turned the ignition key to ON for a few minutes before starting. Can anyone confirm which really resets the ECU?? I am assuming there is no VAG tool involved.

Thanks

When I spoke to Todd @ AWE about this he mentioned that he had spoken directly to Garrett Lim about this issue and Garrett stated that the car has to be running (idling) for the throttle calibration to take place unless you have a VAG tool which can make the calibration happen with the ignition in the "ON" position.
