I had an experiance where some of the windows kept going down by themselves. It happened after the driver's door was opened during a downpour. It continued for several hours and then stopped.
It never happened again.
97 2.8 QM

I had this very same thing. It would come back down after I auto-closed it. You probably hear a slight bump sound when it closes, right before it comes back down.
What happens is that the window has become slightly mis-aligned in the door. When it comes up it hits off line and the safety anti-pinch feature kicks in because it thinks it's hitting a foreign object/hand etc.
My dealer fixed it by re-aligning the window in the door and it hasn't had a problem since (almost 2 years).
-Cathleen

just came back from the LA Auto Show. Here are my high lights
I loved how Audi flashed their TT love the interior. only thing i don't like is the low roof lines it is like the old gangsta cars back in the day.
BMW's M5 is superb! that car is one killer ride!!!
The new Honda looks stunning but the interior is soooo bland...
what was really nice was the A3 that was in the car show how in the world did they get an A3?????? i would love to get one for my self...

Loved the LA Auto Show...
The M5 is a dream...I bleed Audi Rings, but that M5 is killer...
The coolest thing about the whole car??
ILLUMINATED GEAR SHIFT!!!
heheh...
just kidding (although it is a very cool feature)
the TT is amazing, as expected...
I spoke to an Audi rep about the S4...he said it probably won't be out winter quarter 99...looks more like spring for now...
its close but not absolutely accurate. I posted this same thing a month ago and nearly everyone agreed the thing is wacky but thats just the way it works. I have noticed though that mine (98 2.8) seems to only do it when the temp is higher ouside than inside. Its getting cooler here and I noticed that on days when the selected temp was higher than the ambient it never wigged out. It has been irritating me all summer though.

Yea, it is annoying how the fan speed is not manually controlled, but the old system did the same thing. My 98 2.8 A4 and my 95 90 had the same system and acted the same way. I usually turn off the AC when it is between 70-80 degrees and I just want fresh air, but I always have to adjust the fan speed multiple times. Minor annoyance IMO.
