Drove my 180TTQC all last winter in central NY, had a blast with it. You get some really great looks from people...the SUV drivers with the 'what is that damn fool doing out in this weather in that car' look on their face...just give them a big grin in the rearview mirror:)
'00 Raven Black 180 TTQC RWRaiche 08-22-2000, 02:48 AM Do you really need the snow tires with Quattro?? I'm in New England and was hoping to avoid them. RogerL 08-22-2000, 05:04 AM Assuming you have the RE040's...they are *awful* in snow and ice. Quattro doesn't help if the tires won't grip...if anything, it makes it worse, 4 wheels spinning uncontrollaby rather than 2.
'00 Raven Black 180 TTQC Hawkeye 08-22-2000, 06:11 AM Hey RogerL- I'm originally from Cazenovia, just outside Syracuse. I live in Baltimore now. Winters down here are funny! And to think I was wondering if a TTQ could handle them... hee hee hee... -Tim RogerL 08-22-2000, 08:29 AM I live just north of Utica. GF lives in Syracuse, used to teach in Caz. We've been through there a couple times this summer, nice place.
'00 Raven Black 180 TTQC Hawkeye 08-22-2000, 09:33 AM So I guess that if you think that a 180TTQC will handle winters in that area, I shouldn't have any problems if I decide to get one for down here. It would be my only car, so I wanted to be sure. But hey, you come from that area, you learn to drive in the winter really early, no question. I love to "play" in empty snowy parking lots in the winter. Did GF teach at the High School? I may have known/had him as a teacher! -Tim |
