thorough cleaning and application of special caliper paint. Yes...there are short cuts...don't demount calipers and do a lot of masking off etc but a well done job/finish requires otherwise.
True caliper paint is expensive...a most excellent product is by AUG Corporation of Japan...a 28 ml spray container runs about $20 and doing all four brakes would take about 3 1/2 cans. Finished product looks like a high gloss ceramic paint finish. Comes in colors..blue/red etc. I have found most of these types of products can be found in the 'rice boys' mod shops.

suppliers....try Autobahn Int'l..about $50 to do 4 calipers...available in red, black, silver, yellow, blue (more?) I believe this is made by 3M. When "search" fuction resumes, check the S4 forum...lots of talk about 2-3 mos ago.

Even Porsche refrains from painting except for their massive calipers. Racing brakes are most often anodized rather than painted or left natural for same reason.

OK, OK, I know...it looks pretty.
