I have a 99 1.8t quattro...I only have about 10k miles and my brakes, and suspension squeak like a 10 year old car!!!I know I drive my a4 hard but not hard enough for this to happen. The dealership has told me that the brakes will squeak because of the metal fiber its made of...what the hell is that about?Has anyone else had this trouble? I also told them about the suspension and they said I needed new front controller arms because of the bushings and they need to order the whole piece to change the bushings...? They say this is a common problem with my year being that the part was on back order...Is there any truth to this? Let me know if anyone has run into these problems...thanx

Since it may be down, FYI: brake squeal is COMMON. Recently I heard that dealers install A8 pads on the A4 to fight it. Aftermarket pads may help too. Wait for the archives for more info.

Suspension screeks are common too. I just checked mine by rocking the car and it is GONE - I had it I swear. Must be humidity dependent or something similar. I do not know sure ways to fix it.

158,000 A4, A6 and A8 are being recalled worldwide for "Bushing" replacements front.

Just read it in a european newspaper today.

I have squeaky noise problems on my steering. Anyone else?
I'll bring my A4 to the shop as soon as possible.
