OK, I'll admit that all of this DV has me confused. Does it exist only with the 225's, and or the 180's? Nevertheless, it appears to be coming up more often on this forum. Should the problem be widespread, let's force the hand on Audi USA by reporting the problem to the NHTSA (see additional text below). We complain all day long to our dealers and fellow TT owners, but nothing is going to happen until someone forces Audi to do something.

... NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Adminstration) can issue a mandatory recall only after going through a lengthy and tedious procedure. First, the agency screens consumer complaints gathered from letters, from reports to its telephone hotline (888-327-4236), from e-mails to its website (www.nhtsa.gov)

Is the bad valve safety issue? My thinking is "no". Even if a piece of the valve gets stuck in the turbo and destroys it, you'll still have 1.8liters of NA engine to propel you like a turtle. Assuming the computer doesn't kill the engine. Does it?

Using the two other TT recalls in US as basis for this. First was the 47 cars with bad fuel lines (fire) and the suspension and spoiler recall.<p>Ivan
