The author makes the following statement in the article:

"Although Neuspeed's literature rates the turbo kit at 240 bph at 5900 rpm, moderate pinging has caused the more intelligent owners to back off on boost pressures."

Makes it sound as if the driver can adjust the boost, other than with his right foot. Is he really just referring to the programming changes Neuspeed made due to pinging with the early K04 kits?

On a related note, RPI is now running GIAC software in their A4 with much success. The engine chip was custom tuned to their hardware mods, and now can run 1+ bar with no pinging. So 240hp *is* possible with the right software. Check the archives (when operational).
They have also become a retail distributor of GIAC's entire product line.
