I have a black/gray 225TTRQ on order that was supposed to be here 2 weeks ago. After being strung along with no clear answer as to the delay, I find out yesterday the car has a damaged fender and has to be replaced before car can be delivered!!!! :( Still no ETA on arrival, although sales manager "guestimates" it'll be another week. In the meantime, I go to the dealership last night to pick up a loaner to drive, and they had just taken delivery of an Amulett Red 225TTRQ that hasn't been spoken for. For anyone who hasn't seen the red in person, that color is beautiful!!! Now I'm having second thoughts about getting black and getting the red instead. Any opinions or feedback would be appreciated as I probably need to make up my mind pretty quickly - keep waiting on black/gray (no definite ETA) or go pick up red/black this afternoon?!?!?!

Believe me, when I was still in my TT-indecision phase I had a similar situation. I really wanted blue or green, and the dealership got in a silver/black. I was indecisive, and went off to test drive some BMWs...and when I got back to the dealership the silver was gone. If it had been there, I would most likely have got it.
Red is beautiful...as I think you noticed.

But hey, the black TT is already a cop magnet! How could red be any worse? And it sure is purty. The only TTR I've ever seen besides mine was red.

If you really like a color, wait for it. Ask yourself if you'll always have pangs when you see a black one like "I could have had that if I'd waited x more weeks."
If "yes", wait!

Just because they say "Oh yeah, just a little fender damage" doesn't nessecarily mean that's all it is. My brother had an M3 that they bought used. It had supposedly been in a "low speed" accident on the dealership lot, but they had fixed it all up. Then when someone came around a corner too fast and plowed into the car later the airbags never went off, and there was a lot more stuff replaced underneath that seemed reasonable for a "low speed" accident.
I'm not trying to make you paranoid, or to say the dealer IS lying...but they might be understating things so they don't lose the sale.
i was on the lot looking at a black s4. Never thought about a TT seriously until i saw the red TT....wound up driving the TT it home 3 days later. Lots of fun and lots of looks!
NO REGRETS!

Been driving my Amulet 225 TTR for a week. I've never had a car attract so many admiring glances. Stopped at a light, I even had a truck driver give me a thumbs up, and those guys usually avoid looking at little sports cars. I've got the Aviator gray interior, which seems to be a lot better than the black in the summer. I wouldn't trade it for any other color (even the brilliant yellow of my old A4).
