Well, as i mentioned earlier, i was getting an A4. I called Laurel Audi here in Westmont, IL, and they mentioned that they had 5 1.8T QMS's, all with sunroof, all weather. One had sport seats, another the Bose/no trip, another trip/no bose. In any event, it was great that they had exactly what i wanted: silver/onyx, with everything but tip and Bose. I paid 6% over invoice, and the best part was that they prepped it right there, i came back in the evening and it was ready for me to take (after 2 hours of paperwork)

First impressions is that the car is wonderful, the turbo torque is so fat that it felt very nimble. Even with 4 adults and the A/C on, it was very peppy, more so than my dad's A6 Quattro 2.8 when loaded with the family. I got it with 11 miles, now it has about 60. The worst part is I am moving, so i cannot drive the next 5 days (im not parking it on the street, but i get a garage space at my new building)

I walked around the car for 20 minutes after i left it in the garage, what a lovely automobile. Since the concert stereo head has no CD, i will need to swap that out soon. Is it a powered unit, or are there amps elsewhere? I have a Eclipse head unit and a Precision Power A400 amp, with two MB Quart's from my last car and system, and i am not sure how i should proceed, all i know is that i cannot have a tape deck, i dont own any tapes!

I wouldn't be in a great hurry to swap out the stock head unit. You don't have to do that to get good sound. There are line level outputs at the rear of the head unit (they don't have RCA connectors so you just have to solder shielded RCA cables to the 3 posts [center is common ground] and run to your amp).

I installed 2 6" MB Quarts I already had in the rear deck (a very tight fit but they did go in!) and bought new Boston Pro's for the front doors.

I have more than enough bass for my tastes so I didn't have to deal with adding a sub (no good place for one!). My 4 x 40 watt amplifier is mounted under the rear deck and can barely be seen with trunk open.

I added a Panasonic 6-CD changer from Autotoys.com for $270 (simple install in compartment in the trunk). The system I have now looks "box stock" but the sound absolutely blows away either the stock or the optional Bose system. Very happy with my decision to keep the Concert head unit.
